I'm getting really serious with a woman who is currently working as an EMT/rides in an ambulance. Videos like this provide me an insight as to what I'm getting into. So I appreciate this video, man. She and I have wildly different careers, too. I'm an archaeologist. Right now, I'm trying the best I can to understand her professional situation and have patience. She's exhausted all the time, and sometimes her responses are really random, but I'm figuring things out slowly. If you can make another video on the topic, I'd watch it.

I have a funny story about this actually: So when I was in EMT school, we had to do 4 clinicals. During my first clinical, we picked up a guy who was nearly deaf. He could hear, but he couldn't hear well at all. He was a much older fella, probably in his mid to late 70s. The Paramedic was talking to the EMT and the pt couldn't hear what the Paramedic was saying, and being that the pt was facing away from the Paramedic, he also couldn't see who he was talking to. So when the pt asked what the Medic said, I told him what he had said, and added that he was talking to "the driver." About 5 seconds later, the Paramedic said, jokingly, "he's not just the driver, he's an EMT, good sir." I wasn't saying it as a way of disrespect, but I thought if I told the pt, "he's talking to the EMT," he would get confused and be like, "aren't you the EMT?" and then I'd have to explain to this borderline deaf pt that I am not an EMT, but rather a student. So instead of using the term EMT, I just said, "he's talking to the driver" so that he would know I meant that the Medic was talking to the guy who is driving. It was a complete misunderstanding and miscommunication that I definitely learned from, despite the Paramedic's joking demeanor when he corrected me. Lol.

Everytime I come to see him theirs always Pizza Hut boxes everywhere and he never wants to go anywhere and it seems like every time I go back home he gets mad that I have to leave and keeps asking me to move in and when I ask it’s always because his schedule I’m supposed go see him this weekend and I feel like I should have some sort of discussion with him about his habits but I don’t wanna say anything that’ll make him mad

There’s was this one time I was on a ride along during my EMT class, this is recent probably like 2 months ago, and on my first “shift” I worked with a paramedic, not even a few hours in the paramedic I was with he circled around the same deli three goddamn times, am I crazy or it’s just how it is lol. And no he didn’t stop and go in he waited in the bus and drove somewhere else to stop and eat somewhere. I said in my head “this paramedic literally circled the same deli three times and didn’t even walk in, what the hell is going on with this paramedic. Again am I crazy for thinking this or he’s the “weird” paramedic. As an FYI I had fun with the paramedic during my ride along and learned a lot a lot from him, he’s one of the good ones in that agency and cough cough it was Empress. After the transport you know we have like an half an hour to stay at the hospital, well there was this nurse that I thought she was pretty had a crush on her, I saw her multiple of times too cause we had to transport a few people to the same hospital, she seemed very sweet and was nice to the patient unlike some nurses that are just terrible. She did seem like a nurse you would want to work with cause of how she treats her patients. Sadly though I didn’t get a chance to see her on my next ride along, would really love to see her again, welp looks like I may have to break my arm or need something to cause a hemothroax just to see her again lol.
